Hutton happy to go unnoticed

Alan Hutton believes Tottenham are capable of sneaking under the radar in the Premier League title race.

The battle for top flight supremacy this season is as keenly-contested as it has been for some time, with any number of sides harbouring aspirations of coming out on top.

Among those setting such lofty targets are Spurs, with Harry Redknapp keen for his side to build on last season’s impressive top-four finish.

They sit well-placed at present, with seven points separating them from leaders Manchester United.

Scottish full-back Hutton sees no reason why that gap cannot be closed over the coming weeks, with Tottenham prepared to chase silently on the rails and snatch the prize at the post.

“I think it’s better that way – there’s no pressure on us,” he said.

“Everybody can see how good we’re playing and what we’re doing. So let the pressure be on them (Chelsea, Manchester United and Arsenal) and we’ll just play away.
    No fear

“We’re definitely a dark horse in the race. I don’t think anybody can really write us off. We’ll give it our best and, as we’ve shown, we don’t fear any team that we play.

“So I don’t see why we can’t be in with a shout.”

Tottenham’s next test takes them to Blackpool on Sunday and Hutton knows Redknapp’s men cannot afford to underestimate this season’s surprise package.

He said: “Blackpool have done absolutely amazingly and it’s going to be such a tough game going there.

“We expect it to be really hard and we’re going to have to work extremely hard to stop them.

“But I still imagine it to be a quite open game and hopefully we can come out on top.”
