Chelsea star Didier Drogba admits he is still feeling the after effects from his recent bout of malaria.
Drogba revealed earlier this month that he had caught the tropical disease and he has been battling to get back to full fitness ever since.
The Ivorian superstar has not scored a Premier League goal since early October and it had been suggested he was not back to full fitness.
Drogba admits that he has been suffering, saying: “I really feel good because a few weeks ago I was in a poor condition, I was sick, and now I can make runs and create some good opportunities.
“It’s just the goals that are missing and they will come. What I had is not common, it is not something like flu where you have it and a week after you feel good.
“Normally with malaria you are out for two months. I have lost weight, my body has not recovered fully yet but I am much better.
“I am not worried because I know what malaria is, and normally it takes a long time to recover, but I think I am a few weeks ahead of where I should be so I am really happy.”
