Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp says he will not be buying a new striker on transfer deadline day.
Redknapp was quizzed specifically about a bid for Andy Carroll, and although he denied it, he accepted his chairman may have lodged an offer.
In the past 24 hours, Spurs have been linked with five different strikers, with reports have claiming they have made moves for Carroll, Sergio Aguero, Alvaro Negredo, Giuseppe Rossi and Fernando Llorente.
Redknapp insisted he knew nothing of new links with Newcastle front-man Carroll, whilst he also insisted he had not made a move for Athletic Bilbao’s Llorente.
“I wont get a striker now no,” he said.
“I never made a bid for Andy Carroll. Maybe the chairman did but I never did. Nobody has told me we’ve made a bid.”
He also insisted he had not made a move for Llorente, quipping he would not be going back to Spain after he was mugged during a scouting trip earlier in the month.
Redknapp added: “Fernando Llorente? No chance. I’m not going back to Spain any more. Definitely not.”
He also insisted no move was imminent for West Ham midfielder Scott Parker, saying: “Not a chance, I love Scott Parker, but we have no chance.”
