The best-known case of arbitrage is the sure bet on a football game with 3 possible results:

• home team win
• draw
• victory of the away team

However, with the increasing number of online bookmakers, the increasing volatility of betting odds that bookmakers are adjusting more and more often, as well as the multiplication of different bets possible (over / under, half-time, number of sets, the 2 teams score, etc …), arbitrage opportunities are now more frequent.
