On Wednesday, Germany receives the Czech Republic on behalf of an international friendly meeting. The two teams want to prepare as well as possible for their upcoming deadlines.
Shaken by a completely failed 2018 World Cup, Germany then missed its Nations League by finishing last in its group behind the Netherlands and France. On the other hand, the Mannschaft recovered well during qualifying for the Euro by dominating its qualifying pool at the expense of the Netherlands, Northern Ireland, Belarus and Estonia by winning 7 of its 8 games. Again engaged in the League of Nations, the men of Joachim Low, however, are quite disappointing. After 4 contested games, they shared the points 3 times with Spain (1-1) and Switzerland twice (1-1 and 3-3). In the meantime, they hung on by Turkey (3-3) and then won against a decimated Ukrainian team (1-2).
For its part, the Czech Republic did not take part in the World Cup in Russia but will be celebrating next June after having inherited the 2nd place in its qualifying group for the Euro behind England but ahead of Kosovo, Bulgaria and Montenegro with a correct record of 5 wins for 3 losses. In the Nations League, Narodny Tim is also in 2nd position in the standings behind Scotland but ahead of Israel and Slovakia. If it won against Slovakia (1-3) and Israel (1-2), it could not do anything against Scotland in its two clashes with the British (1-2 and 1-0) these last months.
Some absences are to be reported on the side of Germany, starting with those of defenders Kherer (PSG), Süle (Bayern) and Klostermann (Leipzig) and midfielders Draxler (PSG), Can (Dortmund) and Havertz (Chelsea). On top of that, goalkeeper Ter Stegen (Barcelona) and very good but fragile Reus (Dortmund) was not called up by Joachim Low. On the other hand, goalkeeper Neuer (Bayern), defensive executives Ginter (M Gladbach), Schulz (Dortmund) and Rudiger (Chelsea), historical midfielders Kimmich (Bayern) and Kroos (Real Madrid) and excellent Goretzka (Bayern) and Gundogan (Manchester City) are there. Offensively, the Mannschaft is well supplied with the presence of the formidable Sané (Bayern), Gnabry (Bayern, 14 goals in 15 caps!) And Werner (Chelsea).
The Czech Republic is not as well-armed but it can still count on a few assets such as goalkeeper Vaclik (Sevilla), defenders Kaderabek (Hoffenheim), Novak (Fenerbahce) or Coufal (West- Ham), midfielders Darida (Hertha Berlin), Dockal (Sparta Prague), Jankta (Sampdoria) and Soucek (West-Ham) and forwards Schick (Leipzig), Vydra (Burnley) and Krmencik (Club Brugges).
This meeting will be played behind closed doors.
Germany has always conceded at least one goal in their last 6 games.
Despite its recent failures and defensive absences, Germany has ample resources to overcome the Czech Republic in this meeting. Victory Germany!
