Leicester have signed West Brom striker Roman Bednar on loan until January.
As revealed by skysports.com on Tuesday, Leicester have beaten off a host of clubs to land the Czech Republic international.
Bednar is set to go straight into the Leicester squad for next Monday’s clash with Nottingham Forest and he is Sven Goran Eriksson’s fifth signing since taking over at the Walkers Stadium.
The 27-year-old is well down the pecking order at West Brom and Baggies boss Roberto Di Matteo is happy to loan him out so that he can get some action under his belt.
“With strikers it is all about confidence and goals,” Di Matteo told the club’s official website.
“I’ve noticed his frustrations. Hopefully he will play and score goals and we’ll review the situation when the loan is over.
“Leicester are signing some players to try and boost the team and are investing in the club.
“You would expect to see Leicester winning some games and that should suit him.
“Hopefully he’ll score goals to help them, help himself and everybody.”
