Xulu, who has already been invited by English Premiership side Arsenal as well as Spanish giants Barcelona where he had trials, has now attracted interest from Atletico Madrid who are keen to have a look at him next season.
Speaking to KickOff.com, the 19-year old defender says he would be happy if he can win the League with Sundowns before joining the Spanish team next season for trials.
“I’ve got the big objective to win the League and I will focus on that,” he said.
“My manger told me about Atletico but for now I don’t think it is the right time to talk about them but rather at the end of the season. We can’t focus on that at the moment, I want to focus on winning the League and winning the remaining five games,” he said.
However the defender adds that he is targeting a place in Bafana Bafana and would love to play for them before he moves to Spain.
“There have always been good opportunities for me to play for Bafana because obviously I think it is always based on my performance in the team, if I do well for Sundowns I will get selected. I need to play regularly for my country but I’m not putting pressure on myself as I said if I do well for Sundowns I will be called up for the national team,” he added.
Meanwhile, commenting on their League game on Wednesday against Ajax Cape Town, Xulu says their main focus is to win all their remaining matches.
“It’s a very tough game, but for me with big games we don’t need to be motivated as players and as a big team like Sundowns we all know how important the game is.
“They are a very good young side but I don’t think we need to focus on them. For us to win the game on Wednesday we must focus on ourselves. For now if we can win the next five games then we can win the League,” he concluded.
