Nigeria U20 coach John Obuh has said that he will announce his final squad for the CAF Youth Championship that will take place in Johannesburg, South Africa this week.

“Preparation has been great but we still have to cut the squad down. I have great players and it may be difficult to decide who goes out because they are all quality players,” Obuh told The Punch.

The Flying Eagles have been in camp since their return from a playing tour of Libya, Turkey and the United Arab Emirates in February before the tournament was shifted from Libya because of the civil crisis in that country.

Having been preparing to play in Mediterranean weather, the Nigerian team now has to deal with the South African weather.

“We’re not worried about the weather in South Africa. Although we went to Libya, Turkey and Dubai to prepare for the weather in Libya, the experience has prepared the players for any environment.”

Nigeria are drawn in Group B alongside defending World champions Ghana, Cameroon and the Gambia.
