Vincenzo Montella is not focussing on his Roma future ahead of the club’s Serie A battle against Juventus tomorrow.

Thomas DiBenedetto’s takeover at Roma has thrown Montella’s future into doubt with reports claiming a stay was possible if he makes the Champions League.

The former striker claims he doesn’t know a great deal over what could happen at the end of term.

“I am very serene and I am not seriously thinking about my future. I hear many contradictory things. It’s not said I will be confirmed coach if I finish fourth, neither is it said that I may stay if I finish fifth or sixth,” he told the press ahead of the game.

“For me what is most important is the game with Juventus tomorrow. I have seen the players very focussed on the game as it is very important to us.”

Montella wants derby creed after beating Lazio 2-0 three weeks ago, and he hopes his men step onto the pitch to bluntly prove they are candidates for a Champions League slot.

“We have to have the same mentality and winning belief like we had in the derby. If we are like this then there will be no problem.

“But, like us, Juventus need points. They have been winning here for many years, and we have to change that tomorrow.

“We need to beat Juventus and chase fourth place.”

Roma are currently sixth, four points behind city rivals Lazio, and five ahead of tomorrow’s opponents Juve.
