Wales star Aaron Ramsey feels that his side can overcome England at the Millennium Stadium on Saturday to keep their dream of qualifying for Euro 2012 alive.

Gary Speed’s side have suffered a torrid start to their qualification campaign, having lost all of their matches against Montenegro, Bulgaria and Switzerland.

Sat 10 points behind group leaders Montenegro and seven behind England in the Group G playoff spot, Wales will almost certainly have to beat their neighbours in Cardiff if they are to have any chance of making it to Ukraine and Poland next summer.

Despite not having as many illustrious names in their ranks, Ramsey feels that the hosts can cause an upset on Saturday, stating that he and his team-mates have the belief to defeat Fabio Capello’s side.

He said: “Hopefully Wales will come out on top because we want to qualify for a major championship and we believe we can beat England, even if they have some of the best players in the world playing for them.

“But if we have all our best players available, we can show what we are capable of doing. Any time is a good time to play against England.”

The youngster is set to come up against Arsenal team-mate Jack Wilshere in the England midfield and has admitted that the pair have exchanged words over the clash.

He added: “There has been banter, a few words, between us because we could both start and it would be a good test for both of us.

“I haven’t really thought about how to stop Jack, I need to concentrate on my own game.”

The former Cardiff starlet has also expressed his delight about returning to first team action, having spent most of the last 13 months on the sidelines after a suffering a horror injury away to Stoke in February 2010.

“I’m relishing the next few weeks because I have been out for such a long time,” he said, “but now I’ve made my first start for Arsenal in over a year and Wales have got this massive game coming up, so I’m hoping to start that one as well.”
