Egypt coach Hassan Shehata has named his squad for Friday’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against South Africa, and influential midfielder Mohamed Aboutrika has been included.
The Al-Ahly star was forced to miss the 2010 tournament in Angola as a result of injury, but he has been brought back into the fold.
Mahmoud ‘Shikabala’ Abdel Razek from Zamalek has also been selected, with the Pharaohs facing a struggle to qualify for next year’s tournament with just one point from their two games played.
South Africa top the group ahead of Niger and Sierra Leone in qualification for the event, which will take place in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea.
