The Latics really need to get something out of this game against fellow strugglers Birmingham City. Both teams are in poor form with no wins from their last three games. Since winning the Carling Cup, Birmingham have lost two home fixtures (West Brom and Bolton) and drawn away at Everton.
At the same time, Wigan have lost at DW Stadium twice and away at Man City. The difference being that Birmingham have scored four goals in their last three, while Wigan haven’t scored any!
Scoring goals has been a major problem for both these sides this season, with 27 goals each they are joint lowest scorers in the Premiership.
